Weiti River restoration project - removing the Wakatu

$795 of $10,000 goal
Given by 4 generous donors in 11 weeks

Our fundraising page to remove a rusty vessel from the Weiti River aiming to raise $10,000 for this crucial environmental project.

Silverdale, Auckland

The Wakatu, once a proud vessel, has been abandoned, left to decay, obstruct and leak harmful pollutants into the river.

Restore Hibiscus and Bays needs your help to raise $10,000 to remove the Wakatu from the Weiti River. During storm events, the Wakatu poses a serious threat, blocking the river's flow and increasing the risk of flooding to nearby communities. Your support will help remove this obstruction and restore the natural flow of the river, safeguarding both the environment and local residents.

This fundraising campaign is not just about removing a rusty vessel; it's about preserving the natural beauty of our environment, protecting the wildlife that call it home, and ensuring a cleaner, healthier future for generations to come.
